Here are some basic tools to enable one to correct one's perception:
1) Affirmation
2) Visualization
3) A burning desire to change.
a) Affirmation: Must be our own. Must be attainable. Must be written in the present tense.
b) Visualization: Photograph or painting of the desired person. Act as if one is in possession of the Dream Lover. See oneself achieving, being.
c) A burning desire to change: Must want more than anything else. Must smell, feel and taste it. Tell others of one's success.
One should keep in mind that change comes gradually. Results are seen in approximately 21-30 days. To stay focus on one's purpose - The Dream Lover. Let us use the following Action Steps:
1) Recall our childhood - play. Walk on the beach or in the park and dust off and oil our imagination.
2) Read a Biography each month. The life story of someone who has achieved success in their personal relationship or just someone you admire.
3) Listen to soft classical music in the background during work and play.
4) If one spends time around children, become a story teller and read an old-fashioned fairy tale at least once a week.
5) Limit one's television viewing to stimulating programs.
6) Take a deep relaxation, meditation, auto-suggestion, or biofeedback training program.
7) Listen to educational and inspirational recordings while driving and before retiring in the evening.
8) Our self-image in the conceptual, visual, display of our self-esteem. Therefore, this weekend take stock of those images which we use to display ourselves; clothes, vehicle, home, garage, closet, dresser drawers, desk, photographs, lawn, garden, etc. Make a priority list to get rid of all clutter and sharpen up all the expressions of our lives.
Be patient. Stick with it and you will move away from that familiar - comfort zone.
