"God's peace and joy are mine."

God's peace and joy are mine Today I will accept them, as they belong to me. I understand these gifts increase as I receive them. They are unlike the gifts the world can give, wherein the giver losses as the gift is given; the taker is richer by the giver's loss. Those are not gifts, but bargains made with guilt. The truly given gift entails no loss. It is impossible that one can gain because another losses. This implies a limit and insufficiency.

God's gifts are not a bid for a more valuable return; a loan with interest to be paid in full; a temporary lending, meant to be a pledge of debt to be repaid with more than was received by the person who received the gift. This strange distortion of what giving means pervades all levels of the world we see. It strips all meaning from the gifts you give, and leaves us nothing in the ones we take.

In accepting God's peace and joy, I learned a different way of looking at a gift. God's gifts will never lessen when they are given away. They increase. As Heaven's peace and joy intensify when I accept them as God's gifts to me, so does the joy of my Creator grow when I accept His joy and peace as mine. I implore you today to accept God's peace and joy as yours.

Think of those brothers and sisters who have been denied by you the peace and joy that are their right under the equal laws of God. You have denied them to yourself. Look at those who THINK they are your enemies, your critics and tell each one. "My brother (sister), peace and joy I offer you, That I may have god's peace and joy as mine." Bless each person thankfully, and say: "My brother (sister), peace and joy I offer you, that I may have God's peace and joy as mine."
